Socialist LookBook

It's here!  The Socialist LookBook.

The clothes are a little bit sweet, a little bit edgy and a lot of fun!  So . . . Are you a Socialist?

In all honesty, there are even more photos I would share (if I only had the time to edit them) . . . But I have a job, and it's our busiest time of year, so that's it for now.  A big thanks (again) to Quinn for bringing me on for this project.

xo.

Socialist LookBook Shoot: Sneak Peak

From the Socialist LookBook shoot:

I couldn't resist sharing this photo--I've always been a sucker for stripes . . . But that's it for now!  I'm going to wait for the project to come together as a whole before posting the rest.

Socialist LookBook Shoot: Behind the Scenes

Last weekend I drove down to L.A. to shoot a LookBook for a new online clothing store called Socialist.  The store was co-founded by a friend of my sister and brother-in-law's, Quinn.  I got to know Quinn during the activities surrounding my sister's wedding and I immediately loved how fun, funny and all around great she was.  So when she asked me if I would shoot her LookBook, I jumped at the opportunity.

I'm still working my way through all the photos from the shoot, but thought I'd share a couple of photos that I've edited from "behind the scenes".  Here we go!

Shooting the Socialist LookBook was amazing.  The experience was invaluable and working with Quinn, Kiersten and all of the beautiful clothing definitely inspired me.  Not to mention it was a lot of fun!  Now that I'm back, I feel like I have all these ideas floating around in my head and I just want to get out and take more photos (whatever the subject).  First I need to do some more editing, though.

More to come soon!

Winter through my iPhone, Part 2

Winter is ending.  I can feel it.  Admittedly, winter in California isn't all that wintery.  There have been some cold nights and a little rain, but most days the sun is out and my winter coat is left hanging untouched in the closet.  What I'm looking forward to most about the springtime is not the change in weather or even the return of leaves  to tree branches--of flowers overhead and tiny petals underfoot (although those things are all nice) . . . What I'm really looking forward to about springtime is the slow lengthening of the days, the light filled evenings and those extra hours to fill as I please--with trips to the dog beach, runs along West Cliff, drippy ice cream cones enjoyed on benches, quick dips in pools and long meals taken on sunny patios.

Before the clocks spring forward though, here's one last look back at winter through the lens of my iPhone:
