27

On Sunday I turned 27.  27 is when you officially enter your late twenties. Which feels crazy to me--how am I in my late twenties already?  It doesn't feel that long ago that I was 19.  But then again, I feel like a very different person than my 19 year old self.

The other day, C asked me how I felt about turning 27.  I told him that I actually felt pretty good about it (excited even).  My reason being, I explained, was that my mid-twenties were way better than my early twenties.  I just know myself better.  And I feel like that process is only going to continue.

For my 27th birthday a good friend visited, we went out to Cafe Brasil for brunch and we spent the afternoon at a beach a little bit up Highway 1.  It was a good birthday.  Yes, 27 feels pretty good.

8 Years

Eight years ago today, C and I became official.  The conversation went something like this:

"Ally, what are we?"
"I don't know . . . Am I your girlfriend?"
"I don't know . . . You should be!"
"Okay!"

We were 19.  I was already totally crazy about him but still a little hesitant to admit it (lest my heart be broken).  Luckily, he was crazy for me too (and it never came to that).  And we've stayed crazy for each other and made it work year after year, for eight years (and counting).

Below is a series of eight snapshots from our relationship (one from each year).

Year 1 - Puppy Love
Year 2 - At my Grandpa's 90th Birthday Party
Year 3 - Spring Break with C's Parents in "The Moab"

Here's to year nine (and many, many more years) together!  We've come along way, baby.  I can't wait to see where we're going to go.

Trip to Washington, Summer 2012, Part 4: iPhone Photos

I used to take my point and shoot everywhere but now I find myself depending on my iPhone for quick, easy shots (and my point and shoot sits in a drawer).  I can't wait for the new iPhone to come out, primarily because I'm anticipating a better camera.  I skipped the 4S and my current iPhone has acquired a mysterious imperfection on the lens which shows up as dark blob on light backgrounds (like sky).  I often have to shoot around it and there are some photos I just can't take.  Luckily I don't have to wait too much longer.  And all in all, I can still get some decent photos with my phone.

So here is our trip from my iPhone:
